Anandan was entrusted with the chairmanship of the focus group in English appointed gave technical assistance to SCERT Kerala to revise the English curriculum of the state. As part of the curriculum revision DOP was adopted by SCERT and the practical model of ACE 2006 was up-scaled to classes 1 to 8 across the state in the years 2007 and 2008. In the same year the Govt. Of Kerala decided to introduce English in class 1 bringing down it from class 3. The pedagogic tools such as that were used in FACE, REAP and ACE were introduced in the state curriculum. The state textbooks were drastically different from the various models of TBs used in the country in terms of their design, contents and the pedagogical components such as the process of constructing discourses, editing, self assessment tools and questions to extrapolate were incorporated in them.
